Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 818!

Troop 818 is a Scout led troop which aims to develop the leaders of tomorrow who are guided by the values of Scouting: God, Country, Family and Self. We are chartered by Serra Catholic School located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. We welcome Scouts from all faiths. We hold troop meetings the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month at 7:00 pm in Serra Catholic School's Student Activities Center (the gym). Our troop has over 75 registered Scouts from age 11 through age 17. Troop 818 is run by the Patrol Leaders Council under the leadership of the Senior Patrol Leader and guidance of the Scoutmaster. The troop schedules one or two events each month, often consisting of campouts, backpacking trips, community service projects, and activities such as hiking, swimming, cycling, sporting activities, among many others.

His son Mason and his fellow patrol have organized this walk in his memory. This is a troop wide service project to raise donations and awareness in our community.

Earn Lifesaving Merit Badge This Summer

Posted by gbeck on Jul 31 2014 - 7:43am

Earn the Lifesaving Merit Badge this summer - and have fun doing it. Lifesaving is an Eagle Required Badge (with the alternate being Disaster Preparedness).

We will not be meeting on August 6th due to family vacation.

Our first session will be on July 23rd, NOT JULY 9th AS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED. We’ll have a total of 5 sessions of approximately 1 ½ hours each. We’ll meet on most Wednesdays after work from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, with makeup sessions on Sunday afternoons. Don't let family vacations prevent signing up - we'll catch up when you return.

All meetings will be held at the dock in my back yard on Lake Mission Viejo. I’ll need at least one other adult to stay for the duration of the meeting to satisfy Youth Protection requirements. Mr. Brahney and his son Patrick have graciously volunteered to assist this summer.
